Laser Hair Removal
We are proud to offer the latest technology in laser hair removal: the LightSheer Duet system. It replaces the previous gold standard in laser hair removal – the LightSheer Diode laser that has been used for the past decade or so. The new Duet laser, with vacuum-assist technology and larger head size, has several advantages – no messy prep with gel, no need for topical anaesthetics, and much faster treatment time. This is especially important for large areas such as the backs and legs. The most important change is the reduction in pain associated with the treatment – there is virtually none, due to vacuum-assisted stretching of the skin coupled with lower energy levels needed to treat. At the same time, the Duet maintains a high treatment efficacy that is at least equivalent to its predecessor, because of its underlying LightSheer technology. There are numerous laser hair removal devices on the market, and it may seem daunting to the interested client to choose between them all. However, the Duet addresses all the issues that may impede one from wanting to embark on the laser hair removal process in the first place: it's effective, efficient, and pain-free. It also has a high level of success with darker-skinned individuals.
How does the LightSheer Diode Laser System work?
The system emits near-infrared laser light that is absorbed by the pigment located in the hair follicle. The laser is pulsed, or turned on, for only a fraction of a second. The duration of each pulse is just long enough to damage the follicle, while the system’s unique, patented contact-cooling handpiece, the ChillTip, helps protect the skin by conductive cooling during the laser energy delivery.
Why should I use the LightSheer Diode Laser System rather than the methods I’ve been using for years?
The LightSheer Diode Laser System’s design provides for enhanced comfort during treatment, minimal risk of infection, speed and accuracy. Since the system uses a unique cooling handpiece, it minimizes skin irritation that other methods may create. Since it is non-invasive (no needles to penetrate the skin), the risk of introducing bacteria into the skin is reduced. Finally, the LightSheer Diode Laser is a precise instrument that can be adjusted to damage only the hair follicle while minimally affecting the surrounding skin.
